Recent relocation from the company’s Chullora (Sydney) packaging and warehousing facility has enabled the company to centralize all production and operations at its Hanwood hub at Griffith, NSW. At this site is the 40,000t winery and 20,000m² wine packaging, warehousing and distribution facility which, on completion, will be among the most modern in Australia.  This consolidation has created the new role of Head of Commercial Operations - a leading member of the company’s business and strategic management team. Based in Griffith, reporting to the Sydney-based family CEO, and supported by a team of 5 key managers, you will have commercial, management and operational responsibility for the Hanwood winery site-based functions, specifically:  winemaking, vineyards, production and maintenance for all the company’s products.

Key Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities include:
• Oversee commercial, management and operation of the  Hanwood winery
• Operational budgetary responsibility, including short and medium term  planning, Capex etc. 
• Initiate and  implement effective work allocation and responsibilities
• Coordinate and oversee Vineyard, Winemaking and Cellar operations
• Coordinate vintage production plan and approval of grape purchases
• Oversee all site, plant  and equipment maintenance
• Ensure all  relevant company and legal compliance

You will have proven commercial acumen, excellent organizational, analytical and numeracy skills and enjoy problem solving. Candidates for this position will certainly be tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline and have at least ten years’ experience in a similar senior management role, handling wine or other fermentable beverages. You will have an excellent understanding of all relevant disciplines reporting to your role and a sound overview of domestic and export beverage alcohol sales and distribution channels.
