Laboratory Technician – Best’s Wines, Great Western.
Best’s Wines of Great Western is seeking an experienced Laboratory Technician for the imminent 2022 vintage. Best’s Wines is a historic, family-owned winery situated in the Great Western region of Western Victoria. They are a medium-sized producer (700t) focused on producing award winning, estate-grown Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier, Shiraz, Cabernet, Riesling, Chardonnay, Dolcetto and many more. They have long held the coveted Halliday 5 red star “Exceptional Winery” status.
The typical vintage runs from late-January until mid-May, so it is hoped that the appointee will be available to commence as soon as possible. For the right person, this could continue into a permanent role with the company and include wider winemaking responsibilities.
Bests are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic laboratory technician to run the winery laboratory as part of their long-established cellar team. The laboratory is modern and very well equipped to handle the small-batch nature of their fruit intake.
Under the supervision of the Winemaker, you will be responsible for the full range of laboratory analyses and documentation required during vintage and post-vintage.
All candidates will require the following:
- Previous laboratory experience during vintage
- A Reliable, thorough and detail oriented approach to work
- Prepared to live in Great Western.
- Work vintage hours as reasonably required
- Must have Australian citizenship/residency or a valid Australian work permit
