An opportunity to lead the international sales growth of a dynamic Australian wine producer.




Our client is an established, family-owned Australian wine producer with a youthful, dynamic management team. Its current European sales and distribution includes: UK, Germany, Belgium, Scandinavia with several more markets currently under negotiation. This company’s nimble,  adaptable and customer-focused approach has underpinned continued sales growth during the Covid era. Their three-tier product range includes wines from both temperate and warmer climate wine regions which are most relevant to established Australian wine export markets.

This new role represents an outstanding opportunity for an experienced, self-motivated wine business professional to become a key member of the executive team and to drive further sales and market growth.



Based in the UK or EU, and reporting to the Australia-based MD, the role’s key  responsibilities will include:

  • Planning, executing and monitoring sales and marketing activities in all relevant export markets.
  • Identify and develop new sales opportunities in key export markets.
  • Liaise with relevant distributors, trade organizations and industry groups.
  • Develop strong relationships at all points in the sales chain. Regular travel to major markets to drive sales.
  • Participation in export-related trade events.
  • Provide effective customer service activities for export distributors and customers.

The successful applicant will certainly require:

  • 5 years’ experience in the European wine business; proven sales and account management experience.
  • Strong written and verbal presentation and negotiation skills; excellent knowledge of international wine styles.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in a range of business and cultural environments
  • A university degree; the ability to work independently as necessary.
  • A willingness to travel for 2-3 months annually.

Export market experience, particularly in European (and possibly USA/CAN markets); proficiency in a second language would be highly desirable.

The position will be remunerated with an attractive salary package, including a performance-based bonus and other benefits.
